Allen Bauer has officially left Embarcadero

Postby rlebeau » Mon Feb 22, 2016 8:43 pm

A sad day for the Embarcadero community:

The Oracle at Delphi - A New Adventure

It is with sadness and excitement that as of yesterday, February 19th, 2016, I'm no longer an employee at Embarcadero/Idera. I will be starting a new position at Google (Alphabet) on Monday, February 22nd. This caps off a run of 24 years, 1 month, and 13 days at Borland/CodeGear/Embarcadero/Idera.

He will be hard to replace, I think. Hopefully they find someone who is worthy of the position he leaves behind.

It does not bode well when long time employees start leaving the company.

I know that some of the older crew from Borland/Inprise/Codegear/Embarcadero have taken a buy out package and went on to different companies but to be honest, people are replaceable and I do not think Idera paid that much for a company to let the products demise otherwise that would be foolish.

Idera is somewhat slow on decision making but Rad Studio does have a master plan for 2016 and those releases are pretty big.

One final note, sometimes it is good to get fresh eyes looking at the product and coming up with different ideas.
