Title: Special Issue on UI Development, C++Builder Developer's Journal (http://bcbjournal.org)
Aim: User interfaces provide a crucial link between an end-user and an application's back-end facilities. Graphical user interfaces have evolved beyond a simple means to receive input from, and provide output to, the end user. Rather, today's modern GUI is typically rich with graphical and multimedia-based effects (e.g., animations, visual cues, and speech recognition technologies) which serve both functional and informational roles. The aim of this special issue is to provide tips and techniques, and to discuss open issues in, UI development with C++Builder.
Scope: Contributions should discuss the development of user interfaces using C++Builder, and can range from a quick tip to a full-length discussion. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
o GUI component development
o Theming technologies
o General component management
o General form management
o Alternative user input
o Accessibility enhancements
o Front-end and back-end communication
o Multimedia-based displays
Submissions: Please send all submissions to Damon Chandler at editor(at)bcbjournal.org. Preliminary submissions should include a title, a 2-5 sentence abstract, and an estimated page count. All contributors will receive compensation and a subscription to the C++Builder Developer's Journal. The submission process will remain open until May 15, 2005, or until the issue is filled.
Editors: Malcolm Smith <msmith(at)bcbjournal.org>, Bob Swart <http://www.drbob42.com>, Brent Knigge <bknigge(at)bcbjournal.org>, and Damon Chandler <editor(at)bcbjournal.org>.
This is the forum to discuss the Journal's content, article suggestions, etc.
